The g6et is way nicer, smoother and fuel consumptions running at 10.5 50/50 city/freeway and as quick as a mates VE GTS.Ive had it for 5 months but I knew the previous owner and only 1 issue diff bushes which were done under warranty just before I bought it. Mick do you think the way the power comes on and the low down torque of the turbo would effect reliability compared to the v8? That's the only problem with the turbo it would definitely be getting a tune whereas the ss wouldn't.

All comes down to tune and tuner, but you know that already. The SS are a nice car, but you will be cursing when you get done by a stock T.

Ford only make the G6ET to order, either when a customer orders one or when a Dealer wants a Demo. They don't have G6ET's sitting in Warehouses or lots. However, they mass produce XT, XR6, XR6T, G6 and G6E and dealers simply pick out the colour/model's they want as they come off the production line. I was also told at several dealers that Ford is considering stopping mass production of Xr6T's as well due to the smaller volumes compared to the non-turbo models.I'm guessing Expensive Daewoo are the same, they mass produce SS and SV6 and only make Statesman's and Calais to order.

It's still the same production line so subject to all the same 'tolerances' as a normal XR6T..There will be good ones and bad ones.. Russian roulette like the normal turbos.. Just cause its a G6ET with a different interior doesn't mean they'll put any more effort into assembling it. It could be worse because they don't make many and aren't used to putting those parts in. On the other hand, if they pull out the manual for them when on the assembly line cause they're not sure then they may be more likely to be more reliable.
