Hi guys, been a long time member but time for my first xr6t. I test drove an 09 auto with 65k on the clock and was very suprised at how well it drove. The only issue I could pick up was when slowing to a complete stop there was a clunk comming from the rear somewhere? If I braked quickly it wasn't there, or not noticable only when braking lightly. Any assistance would be great, I did do a search but could not find the same clunk I was feeling. Thanks

Sounds like the 2-1 gearchange known as the zf lurch.

Completely normal.

As far as I know the only way to fix is to get a zf tune? Although I have heard of people claiming their zf learns to start in 2nd from stops based on their driving patterns.

Not 100% sure though.

I can tell you straight up, mine starts from second based on how I'm driving that day. Just for reference mine is a 2011 FG'T

Does a zf tune fix this? Mine did it, then it got fixed under warranty by getting zf out to retune the tranny, then I got the engine tuned and it came back, then I got the zf tune and it is worse than ever. If it can be removed with a zf tune then me and my tuner need to have some words.

I think if you go hard off the lights, requiring 1st gear, you're box will lurch more than others.

mine doesn't do it. probably because if I leave it in auto its because I'm driving like grandpa and so it starts in second every time.

if I'm in the mood for a fang then I use manual mode or perhaps in Performance mode through twisties or something in which case its not stop/start anyway.
