Is it ok to install an 8 or 12psi actuator with the current stock dump high flow cat combo and no turbo mods and have the tune adjusted to suit?

yes

I could only make 190rwkw with my standard actuator so I swapped it for a 12 pound one and now I make 290rwkw plus. I ran a 12.4 but she's got an 11 in her. Mods are in my sig.

Wow! That's not much more than a stock auto makes :o

Do people put preload on the actuator spring before fitting? Or set them at a specific opening pressure? Or are people just slappin' em' on :dontknow:
