hi everyone, Just bought a 2010 XR6T ute and have been absolutely loving it.

I had to get the brakes fixed under warranty, so I dropped the car off picked it up 2 days later.

I got home and noticed a fairly decent 430mm scratch on the bonnet.

what chance do I have of getting Ford to take liability for this?

any advice would be greatly appreciated!

go straight back there as soon as you can before they try and deny it! and speak to the guys you delt with.

make a big fuss of it and they will fix it.

I complained when they left dirty fingerprints all over my ute, so the next time I went in for warranty work, they brought out a car detailer and detailed the lot inside and out.

cheers for the quick replies.

I picked the ute up today at 5 just as they were all leaving, and didnt see it til I got home, by then they were all closed up for the day.

im planning on going in as soon as I can tomorrow and blasting them, just wanted to see what I'd be up against and if anyone else had had to argue a point like this.

cheers

Depends on the service persons mood I guess , when I went in for my 1000klm check up , ford told me they had to replace 2 wheel nuts (and was charging me) because they had no thread ! I had the car for 2 weeks and I told them to cop it ( because its new ) and id just payed $45000 for a new vehical ! he wouldnt wear it so I told him lots of things and was never returning ! I went to the next nearest dealer and they were not too impressed but nothing happened . Never had any trouble with the other dealer though .

Ford Damaged door on one of our cars too. they said it was there when we dropped it off, funny don't remember it there. Seeing its on the drivers door and they parked it. Good luck they told us to p..... Off same as when the diff went, they replied with the same answer. It was due to the LPG kit seeing its modification to the car. Depends on the dealership I believe

Don't go in and go off ya nut, walk in and calmly state what happened. Ask them who is their prefferred panelbeater and offer to drive it around there for a quote.

Had my car in a Ford to fix a faulty airbag module. Picked the car up and released there was a scratch. Called them straight up, organised a time to bring it in, they acknowledged the damage wasn't there when I dropped it off and organised to get it repaired.
