Spotted a white Toyota 86 heading north along Royal Parade, Parkville today. Looks nice in white.- rego TOUGEE I think. Daytime driving lights on looked smick  But watched the vid posted in this thread by Dags above (was it destiny - rego was DGS :roflmbo: ) and the talk about no low down torque reminded me of what I luv so much about my T - the low down torque and that aural rumble of the exhaust with the back windows down a crack :msm:

I like the idea of it. Probably why I have owned an mx5 in the past and have a Porsche 944 in the garage. Not a very original concept though Toyota and probably not worth the hype.

A sign of the times that simply making a RWD sport oriented car is big news!

I've driven one and whilst they are nowhere near as quick as an XR6T (I've owned two FG XR6Ts), they certainly live up to the hype! Build quality is up there - feels a lot more expensive than it is. Handles great in the twisties... feels stuck to the road and every bit as low as the official CoG figure would indicate. Lots of trick bits included in the low price too!

My only gripe? I didn't get to spend enough time with it! That will be rectified when mine arrives in October!

is he a midget in the vid ? as the steering wheel looked too high and the distanse from the wheel amazes me that he could corner at all lol

But imo the budget for 1 of these to turn into a lil ripper would far exceed my wages , and my 2 ol 318i e30 bmw's sitting in the back yard sound like they would get the same review if built now in a time when small rwd cars are as common as a well supported polly party . Must say though I hope it is succesful and encourages other brands to follow suit with the concept that a lil rwd car still has a place in the industry .

Also been hearing that alot of these are being modded with superchargers which suprises me as I wud think a turbo wud be more suited especialy on a track .

that's my 2 cents :)

Everything in the cabin is high, to give the illusion of a Low centre of gravity.

After watching that review and seeing a 0-100 in 7.5 seconds it made me realise how slow it really is. My old stock Magna would beat it in a drag race to 100. When an Aussie 6 will beat it I would won't something faster given how "fast" it looks.

If I was looking at a very good handling car I would also be looking at the Renault Clio Rs 200 Cup. I wonder which would put down a quicker lap time. Weight and power are near identical.
