Hyundai velostar with the little 1.6 twin scroll huffer and 6 speed manual will be out soon. I wonder if it'll be it's competition?

I wonder how they go, DI too. If they can turn a corner there's the 86s argument blown out of the water.

Hyundai Veloster SR Turbo - Front Wheel Drive 1.6litre turbo 150kW 265Nm - sweet spot of turbo is 4000-6000rpm.

I think many still prefer Rear Wheel Drive though

I'm led to believe the little suckers have skinnier rear tyres than the front. Apparently to make them feel like they have more power than they do.

I was reardrive through and through.

For me it wasn't the twin skiddies. But the more control of a rear drive. You had more control over the cars attitude with a rear drive.

Have to say not so anymore. Try and get a drive of a good front wheeler. I test drove a few Megannes...Nice to drive, very nice. Build quality sucked. it looked and sounded cheap. But it was a lot of fun. Even the little RS. Pound for pound it will be quicker than a rear drive on most average twisty roads

you have pretty much answered your own question here.

the hyundai can not go around corners so not really a match.

im sure they will catch up one day.

look how far they have come since the excel day!

I saw on Autoblog there is some talk of a faster Hyundai Veloster turbo which would be nice. I don't have a preference to RWD. The Veloster looks better I think.

I look at the specs of the 86 and can't help but think they haven't come very far since the Celica released in 1999. 140kw 1.8 litre, 1100kg.
