My G6e puts out different temp air out of both sides of the vents. I dont think the levers are busted as then it wouldn't reverse itself I.e the side that was hot then goes cold and then the reverse on the otherside (then maybe yes).

This fault was tackled during warranty (looks like last April) and the cars warranty expired Fed 2012. So I am getting John Hughes Park Ford to check it out and hopefully they will come to the party and fix it if Ford OKs it.

If not I will have fix it myself. I think its the HIM module but could be levers.

Has anyone here had this problem and sucessfully replaced a HIM module or its levers in an FG and are there any tutorials around on it.

Yes I bought a 2010 f6 with the same problem, the car was from another state so the old owner said to get the car fixed and he will cover the cost,so I pulled out the dash, and found broken arms/levers so I replaced them, and while I was in there I changed the him module aswell,it didn't really need to be replaced but he was paying for it so why not,I got the car back together and programmed the him module and now everything is perfect

I just wind the window down here in NQ when I want hot air!

Luckily my f6x has not had the problem and hope it never does as it sounds like a pr!ck to fix!

The HIM module has a mind of its own. I dont use the aircond much but when both are on either low/low or high/high it will eventually comply but not always, The degree settings wont work. But I did change to have some heat on a cold morning the other day and then I went back to cold and one was hot and the other was cold even though both were lo/lo. It sorted itself out after a couple of days so I do my best not to touch it.

I sometimes think reflashing tunes plays with its head. The complexity of computers in cars today are gonna render them throwaway cars soon as its just too hard to work thru some issues. Those Hyundais and Kias wont be worth fixing if the electrics play up.

I have the same problem everynow and then, took it to Ford when still under warrenty who said it was a voltage issue and needed a new battery. Replaced the battery and then a few months later it does the same again, now out of warrenty..................spoke to Ford who basically said it's out of warrenty so stiff.

So would you be able to get a camera or scope in the dash somewhere to look at the shafts or is it too hard to even see with a scope without taking things apart??

At least with shafts it shouldn't be too expensive. But is there anything you can do to prevent a broken shaft again.

Farrk - all these issues :omg: Makes me think buying the latest model is such a balancing act. I've already been through a lot with my BA and its sorta just right now (still has issues eg stuck CD in 6 stacker :nono: but I can bare that).

Been thinking what are my options for changing vehicles lately.
