A big (300+ attending) cruise to wisemans ferry was recently cancelled due to the police contacting the organiser and stating that he needed to get insurance for the cruise otherwise he and the car club would be held responisble for the behavious of individuals on it.

I've never heard of this before but apparentely there's laws enforcing it.

Has anyone else heard about this and what size cruise is considered to need insurance. I think its ridiculous, if you're gonna act like a F&^K you should be held personally responsible instead of things like this happening

Years ago we discussed taking FordXR6Turbo.com to a club level and that type of thing is one of the reasons why we didn't.

300+ would be a logistical nightmare to deal with on a cruise though.

Yeah. There were a couple of social clubs organising it. They'd set up a few pre meet spots around sydney and had the event for a few months. All that planning gone, feel sorry for them

Haha I remember when there was a massive Harley cruise going through town once and there was either a cop or someone who knew what they were doing at each set of traffic lights to rig them to green so the cruise didn't have to stop.. Some of us were asked to volunteer a few hours to help out with the signals but I imagine the cops weren't cheap..

Can't really socialise with such big numbers and imagine it would be frustrating as hell - just like a big traffic snarl. You might as well be driving in normal traffic :roflmbo:
