Put it on the battery charger last night - after a week of not using the car - it went flat when I went to start it up :nono:

Gonna look up where I can get it tested for pH levels - suspect when most of the water evaporated off, that maybe some acid may have been depleted (not sure if that makes sense though).

After 12 hours on the charger - car started okay this morning. Will also monitor voltage drop across its terminals this week to see if it continuously drops over time (could point to something else going wrong).

at the low end of the scale as long as the battery has a decent cca 450 minimum ull be right, the differance between the repco special and the centuary is jack chit and nil. but if it helps u sleep at night u got a "good battery" cause it cost u 50 bucks more all good lol

:taunt:

you can buy a battery tester from any auto store, they look like a big turkey baster with a small giget inside that floates in the acid and tells you the condition of the battery.

Thanks phantom mate  Battery is about 3 years old mate, so when I spoke with Century today and told them how low I'd let it go down (to the top of the plates) they said the jump start and me driving it around probably didn't recharge it enough. They said no need to worry about topping it with sulphuric acid and that the deep recharge over-night should do the job. Seems okay now though - have been driving it around do field testing with my company's products. Seems okay :beerchug:
