I have a ZF tune and I am hating it. Been back about 4 times and still hardly any difference. Sounds like a hit miss thing, some people like it and others not. The 1-2 light throttle bang is so annoying driving in traffic every day.

Ye I can't get enough of the power I think il be looking for more in the future. And the tailshaft was a main concern of mine so I got it changed to a heavy duty one about a month ago just for peace of mind

Hey Mate,

What tailshaft did you end up getting? and where did you get it?

cheers

350-360 odd kw here and the zf tune is the thing out of all my mods that has impressed me the most. 6mnths, 12000ks and going great.

I've just got the 4spd but the 1-2 shifts at light throttle or in traffic do get annoying, worn drive shafts make the clunking worse also. The 4spd in me EL was the same.

My bf mk2 has a zf tune.. It was making 390rwkw but tuned it back down. To be honest, if they didn't tell me I probably wouldn't have noticed but I'm used to driving an rx3 with a manualized 3 speed auto, you can't just change gears on that like on the manualized zf, you gotta really smack it into gear so driving this is like a dream hahaha

I wouldnt get it done again

much better driving stock ZF and engine torque tabs removed or whatever the hell it has, (no fart, no delay)

a couple of quick g meter tests shows no difference in shift speeds when flatout, zf tune for me, just has the ability to eliminate the stutter and lurch at low speed and kick harder into gears smoking tyres and smashing diff bush on the street

So what do they do when they remove the torque tabs? Is it done through the computer or physically taken out (please don't laugh I honestly don't know) :-)

stuffed if I know

its a tune file thing

all I know is tuned with no torque reductions it kicks down and accelerates straight away, but with torque stuff enabled it feeds it in, both same engine tune with reduction much less wheelspin when shifting into 2nd and FART, no reduction more wheelspin no fart...
