Fg Xr Vs Fg F6 Intercooler?

Hi all,

I have the opportunity to buy an FG F6 intercooler pretty cheap. Looking to fit it on to my FG MKII turbo ute.

These are the specs as per the thread in this section:

FG - Ford XR6T 370 x 255 x 55mm = 5189 cm3 (Factory)

FG - FPV F6 370 x 380 x 45mm = 6327 cm3 (Factory)

I see that the F6 cooler is wider but thinner. What benefit does that have?

Would it be able to handle mods up to 300rwkw?

I would be getting injectors, pipe kit, tune etc etc.

Upto 300 rear wheel? Pretty sure you could just keep your one. I don't think the F6 one is much better than yours

Yeah mate it will handle well over 300rwkw there are guys running 350rwkw with one

The F6 intercooler is very bad at 300 at the wheels let alone 350...sure the car will make a figure on the dyno for one pull...(or one stab on throttle on the street) but the reality is the outlet temps will be in the 70 degree C area within 7-10 seconds on the throttle....and the F6 intercoolers dont perform any better then the XR6T unit.

Same here this is what I think I've been waiting for lol I hate the look of the PWR.

My xr6t cooler after a thrash is heatsoaked for up to 10 mins of driving at 300.

Not long till the PW stepped coolers are back.. I'll let you know what they are like.. Can just imagine looking at the other IC's of his!
