Quick question guys. Is the ba xr6 turbo got a 3 bar or 4 bar fuel pressure regulator on the rail?

Im checking this today before I go for uprated pump.

Reason I ask is on the tune the ute is running mega rich but the injectors are 100% maxed duty? Seems to it could be a simple fix and a check of the reg to see.

If its running mega rich and the injectors are at 100% duty, changing the reg aint going to fix it. The injectors need to be rescaled so they are achieving the desired afr's under boost. From what you've posted it sounds like the Hi Slope for the injectors is to low. This makes the PCM think they are smaller than they are so its cranking them to the point that they are fully open. The flipside is because they aren't scaled properly they are delivering more fuel than the pcm is calculating for the scaling value it has and hence its mega rich.

*disclaimer. That is one one of the possible causes. A jammed reg will cause excessively rich mixtures but you INJ DC wouldn't be 100%.

If your tuner has scaled them correctly it won't matter. Rich afrs and Max duty cycle still say scaling issue to me. Dropping the base fuel pressure down to 3bar will lean out your afrs but your injectors are already maxed. Plus all of the tables in the pcm are setup around for 4 bar fp so setting them all up properly for 3bar would be quite a task.

Its becoming annoying.

They now say its more than likely a problem with injectors but I dont want to buy another set of different injectors like the 1000cc ones id rather the problem was fixed or at least attempted to be fixed with the 440's I have.

Decided to just park it in the garage for a while as im losing interest with the mapping side.
