Lights not turning on? Could be combination switch

I have got a problem with my car and I was wondering if anyone has encountered this before.

When I try and turn my parkers or headlights on, I twist the switch on the arm like we all do but nothing comes on, no instrument lights on the dash, no parkers, or no head lights.

If I twist the stick back to put it on 'Auto' the lights all come on (when its dark outside).

I can also pull the stick back to use the high beams it will turn the high beams on, but when I push the stick forward to lock the high beams on, then nothing.

I am thinking it could be a fuse or a relay??

Just thought I would pick peoples brain first here as I havnt had a chance to look at the car and wont until I get back from overseas.

Combination switch is stuffed, pretty common

I hope it isnt, as it all works and clicks like brand new, its not even loose.

I will have to suss it out when I get back

not to mention a new one is $395 from what ive seen on ebay

Combination switch as mentioned is most likely cause, it's a common failure, check the price from a dealer and compare it against what you have seen

Yeh combo switch still pretty expensive even with my old mans discount. Was spewin when he told me the price lol

if your handy with a soldering iron you can strip away the plastic around steering column and there should be a broken wire cause all the issues that will be coming from your combo switch.

What I found strange was the both the first 'click' and the second 'click' both have nothing, ie Parkers for the first and headlights for the second. I could understand if it was just one of them.

Ok I guess when I get back I will have to take it apart and see what I find
