I regularly service my bikes and sometimes, the odd car.

I have a jerry can which I tip my used engine oil into.

My mate used to work at a bike shop up to a few months ago so I could dump my oil in there disposal drum but not any more.

So now that my jerry has probably less space than an oil change in it, does anyone know whare I can take oil to be disposed of ?

Obviously, tipping it down the sink is out.

Rubbing it all over my naked body is now also out as I've recently graduated to pig's blood.

Some municipal dumps have free battery and oil dumping stations.. Check your councils website.

Always wondered what my old man does. He puts it back in old oil bottles and I think dumps them at work at ford lol. Haven't got a mechanic mate do you bogan?

I live in Thornlie so I'm in the city of gosnells.

Shyfrd I don't have any mechanic mates that I would be able to dump oil with at the moment.

Funnily enough, the forum software replaced the word "pig's" with "cops" !

Which I didn't think was cricket, so I quickly changed it back.

I just put the old oil back in the bottle and drop it off at my local dumps recycling depot for free.

Id check with your local recycling/dump service first

my old neighbour he is Greek, he used to paint his wooden fence with old engine oil, when I asked him why he was doing that he said " stops the timber from rotting and makes it water proof cause the oil seeps into the timber" I said "fair enough" lol dont know if that's legal anymore but I suppose that's another way of getting rid of it :victory:
