Lads/Ladies

Can I get a list of known, relatively easy and cheap/free DIY things that will help with improving the T's response/power/drive?

Things I know so far are

Clean boost solenoid

Clean throttle body

K&N Air filter + F6 Intake or similar

Remove all unnecessary paint and bolts

With the lower intake, what benefit would the F6 snorkel have (if any) over say, drilling a large hole where you'd connect it up?

Cheers

I'm also looking for things that don't require a tune. Yes I know a tune will give me best performance and gain and what not, but just after non-tune improvements.

ECU's in these cars are designed to try and fight making more power with any modifications. Hence tune.

P.S I've done everything on your list and noticed NO difference in power. Just noise.

rbjet - I thought cat was the main restriction and catback was just for noise?

My tips for cheap and easy and not requiring a tune is get the suspension sorted. will make a massive difference to the performance and feel of the car.

Ok so it's not that cheap but if you don't want a tune then your options are limited.

The cat is the main restriction but a cat back will help and doesn't require a re tune. It may not be the cheapest thing on the market nor net the highest gains but there's not much you can do without a tune.

Figured these would be the responses, a tune is such a huge requirement/restriction on these cars init.

Okay, what about the F6 snorkel vs big mofo hole in air box? Any difference? If it's all same-same, I'd rather just get the drill out and save myself ~$100.

Power costs money however on the plus side my tune resulted in better fuel economy despite the power gains. I think a snorkel would give a better air flow than a hole where the snorkel mounts.

Yeah my last T was tuned and it was much better, but atm an xcal3 and tune plus other things (better off getting it all done at once) is a bit pricey for me.

Why do you think the snorkel would be better? Grabbing colder air as it's sucking further from the engine bay? That's the thing I'm trying to get an understanding on. Whether it does have a better effect or not.
