Yep, not a chance in hell getting it rego'd. I know it's been done, but as pazz said a rotor, or an SR20 really is the go for an Escort. There was a 13b mk1 at powerplay and it went hard. It had tons of room in the engine bay. A mate has a 2L pinto with a blower which is pretty cool. He runs sports sedan in it.

Mate, they're like 900kg, so any of these modern import turbos will have it cranking.

Here is a story I just found about a sb chev conversion. Notice the comments about handling. It would be no different with an I6.

Barra motor into a light car is the ultimate, youd run 9.4's in a capri with 360rwkw, if I was loaded that would of been the 1st thing I would of done.

Yep, that's my pick. Will fit, came with a V6 from factory and chassis kits available for the V8 so easy to get rego'd. Would be a top car IMO.

Easy then - SR20. Will go hard, handle and you'll be able to stop it with a minor brake upgrade (mate runs VL turbo front calipers).
