I know it's been done, but as pazz said a rotor, or an SR20 really is the go for an Escort. There was a 13b mk1 at powerplay and it went hard. It had tons of room in the engine bay. A mate has a 2L pinto with a blower which is pretty cool. He runs sports sedan in it.Mate, they're like 900kg, so any of these modern import turbos will have it cranking.Here is a story I just found about a sb chev conversion. Will fit, came with a V6 from factory and chassis kits available for the V8 so easy to get rego'd. Would be a top car IMO.
