hi guys, im new here, so if ive posted in the wrong section or something feel free to move it to the right section.

Now, I want to buy a ford escort, (as above)

and im now considering doing a barra turbo conversion (because of all the good reveiws and youtube vids ive seen and the massive power figures ive see people reaching with these wonderful motors.), and was wondering on a checklist of sorts of things id need.

obviously engine, gearbox.

what else is needed for a barra engine to run in another car? full details please...

Do an SR20. Won't need to chop the f/wall and will handle much better. I think in most states also if you modify the f/wall you won't be able to register.

Somethin to keep the back wheels from lifting off the ground.

Maybe a TE cortina a better option as engine bay is big enough for a 250 crossflow, might have more chance getting one of these in there.

yep I doubt you'd get one in without having to rip the firewall out, and move the driving position back etc. they are a loooooooong motor.

go the sr20 or even a buick v6 for good fun power to weight....

Nice, what kinda car us that?

I've seen 5L V8's into these escorts. So I'm hoping the 4L would be easier. There where no rear end weight issuses with a guy I spoke to that did a Cleveland v8 into one.

Just thinking out loud.

Most V8'a are much shorter than an I6.

If you want it to be rego'd and engineered speak to an engineer regarding capacity limits and what supporting mods he'll want.

Is it going to be a strip or track car or what?

unsure what I want to do with it, I only mentioned v8's in them because weight was mentioned. from what ive seen, (eyeballin it) the engine bay looks long in the escorts, but I havent measured up yet,

what is the length of the barra?

from memory, in an escort 3.5L is maximum engine capaciy for rego. but that has probably changed since I last checked...

and I kinda want it to be unique.
