Ive replaced the fuel filter without any improvement.Scan tool shows no codes relating to this fault. Ive got a suspicion of it being the FPR. May even be something else?Anyway, If anyone else has experienced this your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/80439-surge-anyone-had-these-symptoms/ Share on other sites

Should give you a better idea of what it could be. I'm guessing it's as simple as following the prompts? Download livelink from the herrod website and off you go. Just need the USB cable, same one most printers use. OMFG! Furk the monza, even right down south in the cold bits. If so you can only log the lower case pids! Need a xcal 2 to log the rest,What temps do you get? Im like one of the only people with a tuned falcon in my town.. Doubt a xcal2 would be available.I saw it go upwards of 150, Not sure if its displayed in C or F? either way that's pretty warm.No one can recommend settings?Im actually leaning towards valve springs. 1st gear WOT doesnt seem to have problems, Change in to second WOT and it has the shudder. But no lumpy idle... Flat stick as soon as it hit 5500rpm in first there was a surge! Not fuel as I have a surge tank. Replaced plugs and coils and now all is good. 1000klms later problem is back :/ sometimes........ Logs are mph and FWhen my springs were shagged car would nearly stall after giving it a boot full but no problems with surging....had to give it a rev and then it returned to normal Edited 09/06/12 10:16 AM by Kosij Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/80439-surge-anyone-had-these-symptoms/#findComment-1251790 Share on other sites

You need an xcal2 to log the DMR's which hold all the vital info like the source of torque reduction requests etc.Is it a problem that just just started out of nowhere? I have like 3 spare regs but I have never seen one fail so I would be very surprised if its that. MX Dave Donating Members 545 Member For: 14y 2m 15d Gender: Male Posted 09/06/12 10:34 AM Author Share Posted 09/06/12 10:34 AM Yeah it just appeared out of nowhere.I did my plugs and coils less than 10000kms ago.. Genuine coils too, It gets pretty wet down here but I extremely doubt water has got up there and damaged them. Its fairly random too, Sometimes it does it sometimes not, Much more apperant in the cold though.
