Some of the best oils on the market will turn black much sooner than other lower quality oils due to them operating more efficiently and keeping the carbon contaminants in suspension. My old FG Turbo use to keep the original oil colour quite well until atleast 5000ks but my new GT has very black oil at only 3000k's on the clock.
