glad wrap = parachute...

your being silly

lol you two fail, if you had been paying attention and now had a dimpled surface leading up to the windows, we would realise that there is no actual pressure on the gladwrap as the dimples have created a cushion of air which is deflecting the air pressure.

dimples in the sump, gearbox, fuel tank, stone trays etc will creat this hover craft affect, not much good for a car that has to go around corners or turn a little, which is why it is better to do it on the normal exposed surfaces

I CANT BELIEVE MICK BOUGHT SECOND ORDER DERIVATIVES INTO THE MIX...

THE GUY CAN TUNE CARS AND IS A f*ckING MATHEMATICAL GENIUS! :spoton:

I'M PUTTING ON MASSIVE RIMS WITH HUGE TYRES AND MINITUBBING...

I WAS TOLD THAT IF I RUN MASSIVE TYRES, THE EXTRA SIZE IN CIRCUMFERENCE WILL BRING MY 1/4 MILE DOWN BY HALF IF I CAN DOUBLE THE DIAMETRE... PI x DIAMETRE GIVES CIRCUMFERENCE... MULTIPLY DIAMETRE BY 2, DOUBLE CIRCUMFERENCE... EVERY TIME THE WHEEL GOES ROUND, TRAVEL TWICE AS FAR... SAME RPM AND YOU HALVE YOUR 1/4 TIME!!! :paint:

THIS IS WHY THEY RUN THE MASSIVE f*ckERS ON THE 5 SECOND CARS! THEY RUN 10'S WITH 275/40/17 MT STREETS :this:

I CANT BELIEVE IT TOOK ME THIS LONG TO FIGURE IT OUT? :wizard:

Yeah ratter...you take it just that one little bit too far.

I hope this thread stays out of google's search index. Might have to move it to the lounge shortly before the spiders get here.

May get a few more donations if you leave it out for night.

Something mrs freaky.

Ps it looks like mick has seriously given this thought.

wrong wrong wrong

your on the right track with the rolling diameter theory, but running a really wide sticky tyre will cause to much drag from the surface friction, not an issue when a top fueler makes 7000 + hp (or should that be +++++++ hp?), if you run a wide sticky tyre on anything with less that 3501.7 rwkw you will lose mph because of this surface drag, the secret to this is oil squirters under the rear gaurds to lubricate a percentage of the tyre so there is less drag.
