Hi,

My '05 BF has the auto headlight stick, but when I put it on auto it does nothing. Even in the dark. Was wondering if there was a common fault that usually stops them from working, I.e. fuse, dud sensor etc.

Cheers,

Peter

It can be the combo switch itself, the sensor is usually good - do the dash lights and headlights work on the other positions of the switch?

If you pull the steering column surround off youll probably find that the wire has broken that attaches to the auto function. This is a common problem and can happen to either auto or other light functions as it appears the wiring was a bit short and ends up folded around a corner which causes the break. This is the combo switch that Senna is talking about.

If your handy with a soldering iron you can fix yourself.

Do you have something covering the light sensor up the front of dash near the windscreen as that will cause it, or the sensor could be stuffed I guess.
