All I know from experience is when I had the FG turbo on board with 290rwkw it was quicker up to 100 than the std 3582 when having 320rwkw.I never got the small beast to work 100% though, can totally see why people rate them so high when sorted.

Having had all 3 major turbos, B series stock, FG little and GTX, how does the GTX rate compared to the little FG for spool?

One thing that's most notable about my brothers G6 is how much quicker his turbo spools compared to my factory B series one.

The GTX spools the same as the std BA/BF turbo from my experiences,it will never beat the little one though, especially off idle.my BA when fitted with the smaller FG turbo felt like it lost 100kg+ it was that quick at spooling.

Keeping the std hotside piping diameter is the key to getting the boost in early as possible on the GTX,spools 2-300 rpm quicker than the 2.5" hotside kit.

I had a few runs against an BF F6 that had a smaller fg turbo making about 320kw and with my 400kw with a modded version of the BF turbo, he would pull about half a car length off the start then by the end of 2nd even then hit 3rd mine destroyed it but still I was very impressed at its starts...

Somebody will get small turbo'd FG on E85 to run 10's at some point, I have no doubt. If it wasn't for the fuel system upgrade required to my car, I'd have a crack myself.
