I used to be of the same opinion, but I never cease to be amazed at the crap that builds up in the filter service to service.

nah that's what an oil filter is 4. both my cars are gt35 equipped and none of them have a stupid screen. never had probs. its only the cars that have screens that ever run into problems.

Evidence? I rather see some proof as to why some people say they're "rubbish" with the screen than just a post saying they are.. :/

Here was my Problem...

On the Original BA MK2 2005 Fitting... where the Circlip goes/ fits... is also the start of the threat. A weak point. That is where it let go. See Picture: http://postimg.org/image/yj3e4h2xp/

I got a new Fitting from here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251235577924?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

The new Fitting got the longer filter unit...The Circlip is near the the end.

The new longer Filter will not go in to the old fitting all the way... !!

The New Fitting feels and looks much stronger as well.
