B: Dazzlers application is a NA not turbo and again I cannot find any claims by him that he is having problems with a braded turbo oil supply line.

I was scratching my head trying to work out how I was brought into this lol ... but I digress

A shop that fitted some braided lines for me stretched one over a cooler fitting they shouldn't have, instead of just focussing on a better way to do it..

My post was made around the time my car was grounded for 3 days due to this leaking pwr steering line that I couldnt even dummy up a fix for and they were all enjoying themselves at Powerplay..

I was annoyed when I posted that comment and it was in no way related to the Earls filter turbo line product..

I'm sorry if I mislead anyone Darren..x..

Yeah my issue was the hose being stretched over an open cooler pipe that the flared fitting was cut off .. it appeared as though the hose had blown from above because the oil was leaking a good 3" up from the clamp.

The internal rubber hose of the braided line was butchered so far along, I could not believe the leak wasn't found prior to pick up ?

But anyway's all good now :)

my braided lines have been fine 4 years now. but I would never ever run any sort of filter screen for a turbo. total waste.

I used to be of the same opinion, but I never cease to be amazed at the crap that builds up in the filter service to service.

That is very interesting Luke. So there may actually be some benefit to having a filter. Thinking about this further it could be possible that the Ford engineers have used the FG's larger oil feed line due to coking (in an attempt to reduce impact). The reason I say this is because I would imagine that the oil restrictor is still the same size.. If this is the case then, the oil flow rate to the turbo would be unchanged. Also I'm thinking that the braided line should have better thermal heat resistance, thus the effects of coking would be reduced. Cheers

do the fg's have a larger line?

solution that would make everyone happy = remove filter screen and install inline filter in the factorl steel line

Yes Fg has larger radius oil feed line. I have also seen an inline filter connected to factory line at the front. Cheers

Just to throw another spanner in the works, could the debris being caught in the filter, actually be debris from the braided line ?. Cheers

just cleaned my earls inline filter after 3000km and in that 3000km had a turbo change, oil change, gauge/sandwich plate install and with all my dodgy craftsmanship I found a small amount of crap in the filter so f*ck the haters its doing its job :f*ckyou: and on a side note I have a 08/09 fg and it still had the small bf filter in the block...
