Thanks for the info. Yeah its weird how its fine until after 3-4mins in and then it starts to idle rough. Something electroincal for sure. I'll take it to ford on monday and probably pay through the nose. Gonna try something simple today myself if I can

Okay think I've discovered the issue. Cylinder 6s coil pack which as I've found out through mates is a common issue with the fords. Off to grab a new one tomorrow and hopefully confirm that it's the issue. However there is a notable increase in misfiring when I disconnect coils 1-5 but number 6 hardly no change at all. So should be right on the money.

Any ideas on why it would be okay in the first couple of minutes whilst cold and then start to misfire. I also thought that if it was a coil pack it would misfire whilst under load in higher revs.

Mine had a real bad idle ( but it was very intermitant) when I got mine, took it too ford and thankfully it did it straight up they checked everything found nothing, they reset and updated the ecu and its been perfect ever since.

Okay so I've replaced the ignition coil and still idling rough! Any ideas?

I'm getting a mate to bring home a diagnostic computer tomorrow night from his work to see what the computer says because the engine light is back on now. Hopefully his computer is alright and points us in the right direction. Until then I'll be in a sh*t mood

Why not do something like the other 5 people have told you and stop by at fraud and get them to have a quick look as above no charge unless somethings broken... they are doing updates etc and no dramas after...

your worried about cost but go out and buy a coil pack even though your not sure of problem..??????

take to the pros and stop messin around you have bought a decent car..

p.s congrats on the purchase...black with cashmere is hot!!

Cos that's obvious. And simple!

There was another thread like this but he didn't listen to anyone. Spentstaino <3 bananas heaps of cash and tbh I haven't heard from him in awhile, probably did listen to us and go to a tuner and we were right and doesn't wanna hear the I told you so :)

Just frustrating considering the knowledge and people that have 'been there done that' and people still don't listen lol

1. Wish I lived near you guys because the ford is charging 88bucks to hook the computer up, and then even more to tell me what the problem is. Why waste the money on that when my mate who is a qualified mechanic was 90% sure it was the ignition coil. A part which ive been told is a common problem with the new falcons. The only downside is ive spent 50bucks and now have a spare ignition coil for the lifetime of the car that I can use if need be.

2. Shyfrd no idea what your referring to, I did paste the exact some questions under another heading but it was deleted, which must of been because I posted it twice. Mainly because I was unsure where to post it. But that happened straight after I posted it so you cant be referring to me.

But otherwise thanks for stating the obvious and being absolutely no help at all. Obviously going to take it to ford if cant get an answer. But my mates bringing home the computer from his work tonight so hopefully will give us some answers.

if nothing shows up with your mates scanner just take it too ford and pay the $88 which is peanuts to what the car is worth.

Yeah that's the plan! The engine light is back on now so would rather be safe than sorry. Ive got a spare car in the mean time so that's why I didnt go running to pay the 88bucks. Just frsutrating. Hence my looonggg and worried posts lol.
