Blowing fuses on these things can bring on odd situations with the icc. I found when the reverse lamp fuse blew in my ute it knocked out all my air con on the icc also. As above battery first and check over interior wiring etc.

yeah, that's a fascinating one. that's the sort of thing im trying to trace...the weird stuff.

how did u rectify this? change the icc? reset something? go to ford?

ALSO I HAVE ANOTHER IDENTICAL VEHICLE SO WE COULD SWAP SOMETHING OVER IF ANYONE HAS AN IDEA WHAT. NOT SURE IF THE VARIOUS MODULES ARE ONLY SUITABLE TO THAT PARTICULAR CAR? ANY IDEA? THANKS HEAPS EVERYONE.

Dont be afraid to use the multi quote button mate.

THANKS.... im a novice on forums, will see if I can. not sure what that will do. I thought I would reply to everyone who took the time to respond. ill learn as I go. thanks

PS...I HAVE READ THAT LOTS Of people need wiring diagrams. I have finally obtained these so please feel free to ask if you need to borrow these

Auto elec may be your best bet if you can't rectify the problem yourself..

Just hit the multi quote button on each post you want to reply to and it will be quoted in the text box at the bottom of the page, then you can reply to each post,(just add your reply outside of the quote brackets). Also another tip, capitalisation is considered shouting.

Good luck with your issue mate. I had a similar set of faults in my old ba and corrosion in the pcb tracks in the bem and icc where to blame.

Mate pull out your glovebox out and then remove your air con filter. If a rodent has got into the car that's where you will find its entry point. There is an air con pipe under the car that rodents can get into and they then chew their way into the car. BA BFs and Terrys have the same problem. I really hope they fixed the issue on the FG.

Up behind the dash a rodent could chew plenty of stuff without any evidence of it being in the car on the carpets seats etc.

To fix it was just put a new fuse in start car again and all is well. If you have the battery off for long enough the vehicle will forget everything, once the residual charge has drained out.

As for switching over the ICC, you have to change two modules over otherwise its not going to recognise your car and key as being correct and will cause a few issues.

I would still be looking at the ICC at this stage as I believe the horn circuit does run through it. I remember this when trying to find a particular power source on one of its plugs and when testing setting the horn off from earthing that wire.

Thanks, trying it this time..... sorry for shouting...the computer I was using had a sticking caps key. All ok now back on my own computer.

I will see if I can find the bem-back of radio from what ive read.

Very interesting, thanks. I'll check that today. There is zero smell in the car but they dont need to nibble much...the other fault for the starter circuit was caused by only a very small chew mark. Is this aircon pipe a plastic chilled air carrier or some other type of pipe? Any clue to how to find this to have a look? Thanks again for replying.

Sorry I didnt make it clear in my original post, but this is a BA model xr6t

Pull out the glove box to find it. The bottom back where it hinges, think its a push up and back motion to get it free. 1 on each end. Then bam right in front of your face will be the air on filter. It'll say open and close on it with arrows pointing which way to slide it before pulling it towards you

Make sure you write your reply outside of the quote brackets ;) reply to ralphs isn't, everyone else's is spoton :spoton:

I believe its the drain hose that they can get into. The pipe behind the dash is plastic. Unfortunately that's all I know as I have never owned a B Series so never really looked too closely. I have read it on a few forums though and I have seen it in a few cars that I work on. Client notice the droppings in the carpet and I clean it only to have more droppings a week later. All had the same aircon pipe chewed behind the dash.

Also to swap the icc you dont need to change any other module, just unbolt the bem from the bottom and bolt it to te new icc.. Code will be displayed on the icc but car will still start... Needs to go to ford to do acm calibration
