I installed an SS induction kit to my XRT mouth on it tends to close over with heat not a very good moulding compared to the comodore kits, needs support to stop closing over

;)

I put GT-Ps mod on my T and also on the GT , believe me they work, and they also look a lot better than in the photograph. The SS induction job costs 3 times the price and has the same size filter pod inlet as GT-Ps mod, it looks factory, you don't have to cut the sealing rubber and it doesn't melt or suffer from heat soak (better quality plastic). Also if you look at the bonnet design, with the sealing rubber left in place, all air gets forced to the left hand side anyway. You will get just as much extra air as the SS kit.

It was one of the few mods I made to my T that actually worked and gave a noticable performance improvement.

Herrods cut the top off the moulding to stop it closing down and reckon it gives more power.

:spit:

They would wouldn't they?. What sort of product is it in the first place if it's got to be chopped up. Crap inferior plastic I'd say. :nyaah:

I got the Batten's air intake mod for my BAXR8 ute last year. Barry is a great bloke, replied to my email questions quickly and answered all my queries. I got the intake for around $300 but that had the already modded airbox included so I could keep the stock one intact. I did notice a difference after installation, more so mid range anbd upwards.

A few months back a guy I knew (who is an SS Induction retailer) got the SS widemouth air intake for his ute for trial but never ended up using it, so I got it put on mine. Is a bit fiddly to install but the results were the best mod I've done to it. More & quicker throttle response, louder induction and exhaust note, better economy. The deflectors dont detract from any cooling of the radiator or motor, the temp guage never goes a tad past a 1/4.

Hypnodoc, I contacted Barry, who was helpful, but apparently the kits are $450??

He reckons that you guys swapped over your factory box ( I.e gave it to him) for the moded one, as to keep the price down.

Clyde, he said if we can get 2 or more from the forum to purchase then he will do it for $400.

Still compared to what the forum members who already have the box have said, I don't know whether he is just taking advantage of demand?

$400 is not as appealing as the value for money $350 would have given us  I priced it from Ford and it was $327.00 for the factory 8 set up no filter etc.

I might look at he other mod that Geea has done with the XR8 intake and T airbox, bit rougher but alot cheaper!

Hey JBXR6T, any time you'd like to have a look at my airbox mod on the car let me know and we can catch up. :banghead:

That's rather disappointing as I was waiting for the XMAS credit card bills to go away before investing in the XR8 CAI mod - just before xmas it was $365, which I later had re-confirmed as also including the K&N filter.

$450 is no longer attractive :( , so looks like I will be putting the knife to the T's box as well! (anyone know how much a new one of these is?)

heh I'm in the same boat also... I was quite happy to pay $350ish but $450 kinda makes it less attractive...

If I'm not crazy I can count 4 ppl on here who were ready to part with the $350 cash?
