Well, dropped off the falcon at the suspension shop again today for them to rectify the issue.

According to the guy who carried out the work on my diff previously, he says there is no chance that he put the bush in upside down and that it must have twisted while driving.

He did have the entire cradle out of the car and sitting on a bench when he worked on it last time, which to me would mean that the diff centre is free to move about on any angle and wouldn't prevent the bush from being secured in the wrong orientation.

He did say that if the bush is faulty, super pro would supply a new one but he would have to cover the labour. This doesn't sound right to me.

If a suppliers product is faulty and causes the customer to do double the labour, the supplier should supply a new product for free as well as cover the labour involved the second time around.

Since he was very unwilling to chase up super pro for costs of labour, he leaves me thinking that he either knows that he has installed it incorrectly or he is doubting himself.

Regardless of which way things go, if he is happy to rectify the issue at no cost to me for a second time now, he's a good bloke in my books.

Another thing that has been in the back of my mind; is that the bolt head being at the bottom of the bush rather than the top, may just be what is clunking as it could be striking the bottom of the cradle hole as the diff centre jolts around during reverse to forward operation.

Does this sound feasible? I guess I will find out later today.

Another thing I should ask is, how would I identify whether or not the rear unit joint has suffered any damage in this process?

As always, any help is appreciated.

Kind regards

Michael

Whether he did it wrong or not is hard to tell, but what he says about labour is correct, no manufacturer provides labour costs in a warranty situation. Shocks, bushes, engine parts etc. Unless of course there are some extreme situations. This is part of the industry...

As far as the uni is concerned its hard to tell, but check for any excessive free play (hard to check on BAs since they slop around alot from the factory anyway
