haha that's what I said when it was leaving the line. They are nitto nt05r's, size are 275-40-17. Cost about $100 bucks cheaper per tyre on ebay then mt et's lol

so I take it your pretty impressed with the nt05r? what pressure were you running in them and how did they hook up, did they wanna spin at all? im looking at getting a set down the track maybe...

Hey bonjaz,

Well that was the first time ive ever been to the strip, but yeah I was shocked with how well it hook up.

I was getting more and more agressive with each run and like I said, leaving the line with just shy of 15psi to get the two back to back 1.5 60ft's.

All the guys watching behind me, said it didnt even look like it was going to blazed the tyres, untill I ran the two 1.5 60ft's which it wasnt spinning, but was getting close to the edge of letting go. Thinking back now, I wish I gave it even more off the line, who knows, could of got into the 1.4 60ft which would be unreal for a radial street legal tyre.

After I pulled up at the track and unloaded my gear, I dropped the pressures to 24psi and didnt look at it again. Even all my burn outs were piss weak, I only did em to dry the tyres.

I never spun em up off the line so fiqured there was no point. The tyres still look like they have 100% tread left :).

My tuner (Keelan, the guy you see behind my car in the vid) has a bf 6 speed auto and has managed a 11.2 so far with mt ets radials.

But after how well my car went, the fact his tyres are nearly shot and at about $100 bucks cheaper per tyre, he will be getting some NT05R's too.

I am running them on the street all the time too, they hook up better then any other street legal tyre ive ever run. I wouldnt dare drive in the wet but lol, up here in darwin it wont rain for a good 4 months or so atleast :).

They sell them for 18's too.

The guy selling them on ebay is "wheel_tech". $460 for the pair, before postage.

hey craig,

im kinda worried about the transbrake just destroying the whole rear end lol, the plan was for a 9 inch but thta has been put back for obvious reasons.. I hate the pump E85 compared to race E85 its no where near as sweet to smell lol, and the price of it at the pump atm I would rather just buy race E85.. when I went 10.66 I only went to about 3000rpm so we got alot more in the launch without the transbrake lol

Awesome result mate, have to be pleased with that!! E85 is wonderful isn't it?? Haha

Do you buy Sucrogen or one of the other pre-mix drums?

I ran 10.8 @ 128 with 343rwkw 5 yrs ago. 60 ft 1.61.

Lol, your point being?

The OP ran a quicker et with less mph. If you drove the car properly you would have gone quicker...

Comon boys, track, car weight, tyres, climate, trans, tune etc all make up a big part of what et the cars run.

The darwin track would be as good as any other track in aus, if not better.

It is the flatest track in the northern hemisphere and has just been completly re-done. Like I said in my first post, the record for the quickest et for a door slammer in aus was nearly broken last year on this track, so that's no doubt played a big part of how the car peformed.

Go back 5 years, in the build up before the wet season, the darwin track was probly one of the worst track in aus.

I would of probly runs mid to high 11's at best.

Oh yeah, the fuel I run is "power plus fuels" E85. Its 116 ron, its really good sh*t ;)

Yep, lol you would be in the same boat as I was the other night with my stock driveline, if you used the transbrake.

Two things could happen,

1= It would be super quick and run a awsome et and 60ft or

2= spray the driveline all over the track.

I wouldnt recommend you go for # 2 lol

Was Justin going to convert your ass end?

Spoke to Dave today. Probably around middle of next week. Can't wait.
