A friend of mine is an account at Port Headland.. When she transfers back to the perth head office she dropped about 40k per annum.. But I don't work in the mines anymore pazzo I just contract to them occasionally for odd jobs.. Can get some security jobs in some mines.. Pookey is right.. More money in the dancing side of things.. Worked in various site and Perth roles inc spanner wanker, shift super, workshop coordinator, then moved into a Planner/Superintendent role, got beat up by the GFC, then worked my way back into a shutdown planner/manager and now im semi retired as a long term planner in the asset management division of an Iron Ore miner. I work with Choo Choo Trains now which is a nice change from big yellow utes.

But considering I had only been with the company 9 months and 200 people where laid off, they chose to keep me on (even if it was in a lesser role) i couldn't really complain.Love my new job and have racked up enough frequent flyer points in the last 9 months to take my wife to singapore b/class with out putting my hand in my pocket

But yes that's another thing you have to keep away from, not just the booze to waste money on. I don't often drink so I'll be fine with that, will just have to resist splurging when I'm home. Like my mate lol, first time back home he was loaded and went out and got a heap of tools. He realises it was a waste and told me what he got. Lol some still in their box never been opened :/How often are you on a plane? That's awesome lolBtw you say you're semi retired? I only read you as a 30something yr old off of here lol. If so, you're doing well to be there..haha Edited 18/05/12 03:03 AM by Shyfrd

So generally 8 flights a month sometimes more sometimes lessHe who dies with the most tools wins

Short flights though I guess? Still a lot of time in planes. If the airport is always busy that'd drive me nuts.Haha I'm more hoping to get a few properties under me. Give myself an easy retirement, that's the whole idea of going to the mines innit? Lol. It'll be tough work and take awhile to climb the ladder but I reckon I'll love it. Can't wait tbh..
