I edited that last post in reply to you Ralph in case you missed it..Depends what age I retire as to if I'll still be there lol. If its 60 I think I'll be long gone from mining. Younger, possibly.

SDP, that's one thing I've noticed with thiess job ads, a lot of them ask for experience. Haven't seen a store man job listed as yet but that's the kind of job I had in mind awhile ago to get the foot in and then transfer from there etc. I'm on your wavelength as far as specialising in one particular job. I don't want that as I'll be limited (in my mind anyway) to a job or a couple jobs. I want to constantly branch out and aim for the top pretty much. Always want to go bigger and onto better things. It'll take time but everything does!

Lol I've seen you say something similar to that before Ralph.

3 years government and now I contract back for 40ish hours per fortnight.. But a fair bit of experience dealing with Anglo and rio.. Met some of the brightest young associates at Anglo under the stupidest management I've ever seen.

Anglo sound like a decent group. Will definitely look them and spammmmm them next wk! Thanks for all the replies and help guys, don't stop here though :P keep talking about the different groups and mines you've been at. The more info pumped into this head of mine, the better! Appreciate it heaps, will be a big thanks when I get a job, hopefully at a decent place and position :)

Pretty much anywhere. FIFO won't be a problem for me. Was originally just set on WA but I'm thinking now anywhere will do. Can't be too fussy when starting out lol. I'll have to look that group up too. Thanks for posting them :spoton:

Sounds like they take on most people, even with no exp which is great :)

It'd be a career in the long run but as I said first stint would be for a few yrs then travel for a little and rip back into it :D

Lol Whitsundays just at your doorstep pretty much would be awesome haha

What would say is moving? Living there onsite full time? Like no fly out, or something else? I have found out that the cost of living not onsite is just ridiculous..stupid money for a room in a proper house. Will still look them up nonetheless :):spoton:

some places in moranbah for rent prices are upto as much as $3800 was said the other week on the local news lol.. there are not a real lot of FIFO in the bowen basin mate.. most places use buses we have buses from cairns, townsville, rockhampton, airlie beach and mackay for every shift rotation.. we are 4on4off.. but having no luck with BMA atm (BHP) untill the moranbah airport up grade is finished and Cavel Ridge extention of peak downs start which is suppose to be FIFO..

some ppl live in camp atm mackay rent is way over priced same as further down the coast like rocky. myself like alot of others are waiting for Alpha mine to start which will be FIFO out of pretty much everywhere..

You an operator out at goonside Chlaxn?

yeah mate shovel operator out there

Cool. You on the 4100 or 340's? Kane sparkes on your crew?

I was up the bowen basin for almost 8yrs. Coppabella and Millennium for Roche/Downer then Jail Creek for Rio. Transfered down the Hunter with Rio now.

Kane is my Bro inlaw
