If it does start release the pedal straight away. I would also advise against trying it at all if the car is cold.Wouldn't hurt to disconnect the battery before hand though. I think it resets the cam phasers or something like that. Also it is not necessary to disconnect and reconnect the battery but doesnt hurt if you also want to do that.And it does stat that it is foot hard to the floor as if you lift slightly the car will start as mention.
