Always think about it but was too worried bout it not fitting. It feels like theres enough room and now I know that there obviously is. Goodwork taking the time and effort and it looks good. Nice and tucked down instead of being a bright ornament on top of the dash. Did you manage to get the holding bracket on the back aswell?XAH03,I was worried bout using a hole saw as it may be harsh on the vinyl. Did you cut the vinyl first,or just bore straight through the lot at the same time?

May be wrong but going slowly would be best. Would follow op directions doing the cut around the template then drill a million holes lolOP - how does the gauge stay in? Is it just sitting there so anyone could pull it up or is it clicked in somehow?
ebxmple Member 1,322 Member For: 17y 27d Posted 13/05/12 10:02 AM Share Posted 13/05/12 10:02 AM Yeah, dare say it would be a safer bet to cut the vinyl first. I have replaced a few dash pads and sure dont want to do mine.I think the holding bracket will fit in there and hold the guage in,but we see what he says. What did the guage cost? I was looking at getting a Cobalt guage to match with the cluster. Can get from Autobarn with a discount in a 52mm for $150.

The key for my personal install was making the hole absolutely perfect in size (A fraction under sized). It does not move or rattle.. To remove it takes about 30 seconds, but you have to pull on it in sections - Like top, then bottom, side to side and then you can get a decent grip. Trust me when I say it does not require a clip or bracket if you take your time on your hole size I also agree about the hole saw possibly being harsh on the vinyl when trying to grip at first. My 52mm Autometer gauge was from ebay.. I have a matching Voltometer and paid $87 each for them off Ebay.com.au posted from U.SCheers, Josh

I wouldn't mind my boost gauge there...
