Dont be alarmed, I dont know any details, but Id like to know how Ford does these.

I wandered into a dealer yesterday and tried to pin him down on some details (very hard to do!), he mentioned when the price rise would be in the new year but wouldnt say when exactly, I think he mumbled January or something.

Car salesmen...so shifty!

How much warning do we get?

Same thing happened last year. Price rise was supposed to kick in Jan 1 2003 but didn't end up happening until Feb or even later.

- Gee I hope that's the case next year also, 'cause I'm hopefully picking up my new car in the end of Jan. <_<

Does any body know how much the price rise might be? <_<

If you ordered by now surely the price won't rise on you. During the ordering process we were told about the servicing deal after the 3 year warranty ran out. Pay x$$ fixed for a service for the 3 years after warranty, and that that price was locked in at todays rate. People buying cars in 3 years time will get a new figure for their after warranty fixed price servicing. I can't see them making you pay more cause you had to wait to get your car.

There is a clause in the Ford new car contract that states that if the manufacturer raises the price prior to delivery the dealer has the right to pass this on to existing deals. It usually won't happen but it can.
