Guest XR09 Guests Posted 10/05/12 03:35 AM Share Posted 10/05/12 03:35 AM (edited) My fedrals sound like mud tyres. The noise is not so much the diff as the way the whole shabangabang is mounted. The diffs although a bit noisey are quite good for the punishment they can take to the price of them. They are cheap crap, but a lot of the blame is not with the diff per say Edited 10/05/12 03:36 AM by XR09

The guy said he'd get onto it as its really loud !So they called later on and said the foreman wanted to look at it closely before just ordering another diff ( they replace it from wheel nut to wheel nut, not just the centre) in case it was a wheel bearing or something. So I had another spew to him about not road testing when we took a spin around the block too.Next thing, he threw it on the hoist and got the stethoscope out. Turns out the noise is not the diff centre, but probably a wheel bearing as its comIng from the right hand end. This is good news as if it was the diff, I'd have to wait while they ordered a new one in. If its a wheel bearing, they can change it out for me tomorrow This all happened after hours there too so I'm happy with the attitude and the effort at fixing their f*ck up. The down side is that I had to drive home in some poxy Kia mini van POS so they can fix it tomorrow for meFingers crossed as the big rims and lowerage are happening saturday.Friday nights cruise could be fun in my Kia ! Watch out if you're having Diff problems cause they won't touch the diff again under warranty if you drop it..

They also did another diff change on a another new ute today and that one was noisier too.Obviously some issues to be resolved there !So at least I have my ute back for th WA cruise tonIght. The original diff if okay for the time being, I can live with it, but the new one would have ground itself to death without a doubt.
