Just got a bf zr6t mk 2 its go usual mods exhaust cooler and seimens injectors

Have done 200kms in it so far and its developed a tapping noise

Only on idle and not at higher rpm , performes well and runs smooth ,noise increases when

A/c compressor kicks in , the fella I got it off reckons that's it is injectors

Noise and it is imminent ( sometimes does it and goes away)

I'm thinking it might be timing chain , any input woud be appreciated

Could be just about anything. Have you tried listening to it with a screw driver? I had a few different noises when I had a loose flex plate and a bent rod. Both only on idle.

If you've over revved it flex plate and if it's over boosted or seemingly lost power on hard boost it may have detonated a little and bent a rod or two.

Could be anything though.

Injector noise doesn't go away.

It's conning from the top ,I think it may be the lifters ,it only does it when the motor warms

up,I'm going to try some thicker oil the oil in it was put in by previous owner

so I don't know what it even is , what oil would be best to use ? Any recomindations

woud be helpful.

I use a full synthetic Total Oil 9,000 10/50.

I thought the lifters were good in these. I've never had lifters make a noise in the 3 motors I've had in my BF.

Don't just put any old thicker oil in. Think of the turbo. Do some research in the oil section. I would have done an oil and filter change when I bought it.
