The company I work for has lost the next defence contract so everyone Australia wide is redundant!

Good news is the new contractor will need employees, so all I can say now is "show me the money!"

Another 70+ out of work.

Australia's last Aussie owned cannery as of yesterday has been closed down with all staff made redundant. Windsor Farm Foods, makers of our Magnificent Australian Grown Beetroot has been placed into administration. Our thoughts go out to the 70 plus Aussie workers and their families in Cowra who have lost their jobs.

Back in March last year we predicted that companies selling cans of beetroot for 75 cents would be the death knell for Australian beetroot producers. It saddens us deeply to say that we were right.

Excluding the mining tax and carbon tax , company tax receipts are projected be down in excess of $20 - 25 Billion dollars this financial year

Says something about the underlying strength of the economy as decreed from the roof tops by that "goose" of a treasurer
