I got my little 6t press off eBay for $165 delivered to port hedland via TNT. I was stocked with the buy as freight alone would have been close to the purchase price I reckon. I have a 10t jack if I need to get serious though :)

Thanx for the advice too

EDIT. will I lose any diff oil when I pull out the axles? I'm guessing no but will need to get it before I start as the only shop that sells the right oil is closed on the weekends

Well I finally got around to doing it last weekend, was a bit of a PITA but what a difference it makes! Well worth every dollar and every minute spent doing it. It actually feels like the rear end is properly attached to the car and not sticky taped in like it used to. It totally transformed the feeling of the car under power. NVH increase is almost negligible. :) very happy little camper with it now. Would recommend it to anyone!

One more tip for anyone doing this is don't break off the bloody counter weights on tailshaft bolts like I did.
