Have any of you guys with fg turbos used fords intake and combustion chamber cleaner?

I have been using it for a couple of years on my eb v8 and have found it to be good stuff and it seems to clean the oil out of the intake really well.

My only concern was the composite/plastic intake on the turbo engine and possibley eating into it.

I dont have the car yet but would like to find out this before it arrives.

Cheers Shannon

Called up 3 different ford dealers and they all said it would be fine, im not sure if the turbos run a pcv or breather back into the inlet tract but if they do theres a chance it may get oiled up over time so it certainly wont hurt to spray a can in there once in a while.

Yeah they run a pcv, its at the left rear of the rocker cover. Best bet would be to install a catch can to to help prevent build up on the first place.

I bought some of the subaru stuff off ebay, had good reviews loads of people use it. Got six cans of that and six of their fuel cleaner for $40 or so, just waiting for the next oil change to do it.

They also say to spray it into the inlet manifold through a vac line, so shouldn't be getting any in the plastic pipes that way.

yeah I have used the subaru stuff too with good results, both the ford and subaru brand stuff is made by bars leaks so id say it may be similar.

When you see blue smoke coming from the zorst after you use the stuff you know its doing its job and cleaning the oil residue and carbon out of the manifold and chambers.

Might look into some type of intake and combustion cleaner. 200 thou and I'd surely need it?

If you do Steve, use seafoam or Subaru upper cyl cleaner.

Also do it on a sump full of cheap oil and please take the turbo oil feed out of the system.
