About to purchase a 2008 Ford from a good mate in Tasmania. Car checked out perfectly so just working on the logistics now....questions....what will I have to do to reregister it here in NSW? Tipping I will need a blue slip but had one done years ago and it was a nightmare! Is there anyone in western Sydney that you could recommend who is pretty "kind" when it comes to these sort of things. I was going to keep it registered in Tassie but my mate is moving to the States and unfortunately cannot use his address!

The car is in top nick so I am not overly concerned but from experience, some of these mechanics go over the top when it comes to "blue slips"....any advice.

Thanks in advance

Nobody is kind when it comes to new rego's. Im guessing that the mechanics who are blue slip qualified want to hang onto their priviledge, and not lose their stamp by passing a car that really shouldnt pass, then get caught by the RTA.

Id suggest making a few obvoius things, maybe a blown tail light/brake light, so then they dont have to go looking.

Mate I went through the same thing a couple of months ago when I bought my 07 falcon from the act

They ask for a blueslip which cause mine was stock passed easily and just the usual for transferring rego

If you have a regular mechanic that does most of your work that would help, I've been using mine since I was 17 and he just did only what was necessary and didn't try to find anything wrong that wasn't obvious
