Had an alignment done a month ago and the mechanic said all good but he is full of crap! Still shakes and today it felt like the bloody wheels were goin g to fall off!I'll book it in on Monday but any suggestions would be a great help....I have the IQ of a brick when it comes to cars and repairs! Thanks in advance.Dedogman

Common issue of the master brake cylinder lever needing adjustment. Causes the brakes to be slightly appiled with pads rubbing on rotors and causing shudder(if rotors not perfect) especially at higher speeds.I think you can test by jacking up a front wheel and see if it spins easily without any drag. The front brakes/wheels will probably be getting pretty hot too.Someone else might know more of this issue and chip in. My suspension shop was telling me about this. Warped discs. As mentioned the master cylinder

Mine was due to warped brake rotors. Ordered new pads and upgraded rotors for under $400 from Auto One, fitted them myself and it reduced dramatically. There was still a little vibration there which I found out later to be that all my rims were buckled. Now I have new rims, car drives beautifully. Mine used to shake so bad I thought it would come apart at the seams. A new brake booster eventually solved the problem, but the quest for a vibration-free front end has seen me replace 2 sets of rotors, pads, all new front bushes, ball joints, added Boge struts, camber kit - and that's just the front. Drives better than a new one now...

If you're still out there, was the new booster a long term fix? I think I'll have to get the lower control arm bushes changed now as have had the car for 4yrs/60,000 kms but the booster seems to be the most common. There's one going on ebay which is internally modified to prevent and in talking to the seller he assures me (don't they always? :-) it will stop the shudder if it's happening when the brakes are not being applied, but it's kinda pricey

Wonder what he has changed other than the pushrod length. Even to the point of getting it apart. They don't twist apart like normal boosters they are crimped together.
