Impellor Member 835 Member For: 14y 7m 7d Gender: Not Telling Posted 19/05/12 12:17 AM Share Posted 19/05/12 12:17 AM BFII and FG are exactly the same platform (although BFII is slightly lighter). The only difference is steering rack ratio and alloy wishbone in FG. that's why it feels better in front end (although the difference in track times would be SFA). BFII has 425rwkw potential unopened and using factory turbo. So spend $3000 on suspension upgrades, and $10000 on engine mods, $2000 on brakes, and you will have a VASTLY SUPERIOR CAR end of story. $5000 on FG gets you exhaust, intercooler package, injectors, tune and cat if you buy well. For maybe 310-320 rwkw's. NO; fuel system, dump, plenum, valve springs, turbo port and wastegate actuator, oil pump gears. Now gentleman if you find this further debatable go out and buy one of each, do what I have suggested, and then see which car you would rather drive. So until you do this, I suggest we leave it here. The op has 30K to spend, from what I've seen (a while ago) a good BF2 low kms is around the 20K mark, so that leaves ~10K. Its all personal preference, but I'd rather a newer car that's quick than an old car that's quicker.Plus he came from a VE SS, anything is better lol.. I would prefer the more $ to spend on mods route.but no doubt even if he does go the fg route (much better car) and spends the 5k INITIALLY, there will prol be 10k again spent once he gets the bug....then there is no comparison..... lets not leave it here. Its $15k for a 100k km car if you ask me..I'd say go the FG. Much nicer car IMO and would prefer the widdle turbo Agree with what was said earlier, very much appreciate the work you do for Australia over there

I used to prefer the stylings of the BA/BF over the FG, particularly in the utes, but since buying my FG I wouldnt swap it for a BF at all. The FG is a dream to drive, in my opinion.Only advice I can offer is to test both and make your own decision on how they drive because we could sit here all day saying which we prefer but it ultimately depends on what you get from the driving experience, after all, that is why you're buying it.
