As you know, things change and as I get older I seem to find myself moving away from the sports/health/science side of study. I've decided that I want to do something that has the potential to see me earning some reasonable money, All you guys with supercharged GT's and F6's are making me jealous! Honestly, I've studied since 2005 so I'm getting to the end of my motivation...This leads me to my first question. Are any of you in OH&S? From what I understand, there are opportunites offshore and at the mines, not to mention pretty much any industrial or commercial area. Anything relating to the field would be great - If you or anyone has worked in the area, can you share anything? Good or bad?I'm considering doing a graduate diploma in OH&S as I'm hoping my Ex and sport science may be linked in some way (E.g. companies like BAC that organise OH&S and physcial training and assessments for industry)Would you guys think a Grad Dip would be looked on favourably or is it not worth it? Would it be better than a standalone diploma? Is it similar in qualification to a degree? Would a grad dip be enough for me to hold a reasonable position?I've looked into Graduate diploma's and stand alone diplomas and the difference in price is up to 10x more for a grad dip - Is it worth it? Obviously I'd rather put 'graduate diploma' in my title if possible, but is it that much better? Fro what I've seen they each have 8 units that have similar content...I'm open to any other suggestions for short term study as I'm sure there's a few things I've overlooked...Anything realting to OH&S would be great guys, along with any help regarding the tertiary study options. Thanks in advance Lads,Dan Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/79911-few-questions-regarding-post-graduate-study-ohs/ Share on other sites

The liability issues these days means you'll never be short of work in this field. You'll never be out of a job IMO with doing ohs work. I've completed my apprenticeship down here in geelong and through the 4 yrs (2yrs each with 2 employers, current boss used to work with prev employer) and we only had our first audit this year a month or so ago. Things may be different in other states. Also works in our favour (I guess lol) that we only we do frames and at a job for no longer than a wk for a single story. So were constantly on the move and coincidence this bloke came to us when we were working Taylors Hill.Good luck with it all and keep is posted on how you go Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/79911-few-questions-regarding-post-graduate-study-ohs/#findComment-1228197 Share on other sites

I get where your going with this your exercise and sport science degree with the OH&S would be good, motivation is a big thing in OH&S so Im sure you have a angle for employment, the money is in Risk Assessment so keep that in mind.
