The regulator should still control the fuel pressure shouldn't it? as long as the supply is good.

Revving 4th out is just asking for trouble IMO.

Maybe there is a problem with the plumbing or the regulator is kaput?

I guess.Just doesnt explain the part where it feels like I've hit a wall under load at around 3K.

Not saying your rings are stuffed but running too rich can damage the rings and other components. First things I would be checking in your case are plugs and the cat. Then fuel pressure, AFR and tune adjustment if needed. Edited 27/04/12 10:45 AM by Paulie2256

Dumb question but how will I know if the plugs are f*cked? Is the general consensus just relace'em?With the cat can that be checked by banging it by hand underneath and listening for loose sh*t inside?I could most likey borrow my brothers fuel reg and the rest will have to wait till wednesday I guess. I dont see how installing a surge tank and 044 can make it run richer if the fuel pressure regulator is working properly.... I fitted a surge tank to my bf when it was running 300kwatw and afr's remained exactly as they were
