Taking the sticker off and doing other stuff to hide the fact it's a turbo won't help

Cops can tell with their rego scanner straight away its a turbo and you will get caught and if you crashed your insurance will be void as others have also said

I'm not on my p's and drive sensibly most of the time but I do still enjoy the odd power skid when it's appropriate.

It's not a wise idea to get the turbo on your p's mate, insurance being the major issue I reckon.

At the end of the day, it's a stupid idea mate. You have more to lose than gain by getting it now. Just wait the extra 12 months, you'll be able to get a better model with the extra cash you save as well.

I have been driving mine for about 4 months now, and I only had a year left to wait, first thing I did was take the turbo sticker off, and cover up the intercooler abit, not much to block the flow. As I only use the car to go 2 and from work and dont do anything dumb,

Not trying to condemn or tell either of you what to do but I sure hope you don't live in NSW (Don't know the laws in other states), because if you happened to be pulled over for an RBT, or get scanned with rego scanners that most HWP are now fitted with (which also brings up insurance), it's a $1700ish fine and 7 demerits, which I believe will see you off the road for 6 months, a court date and disqualified license (which means starting the 3-year provisional period again).

Not worth it for any reason in the world.

I bought mine with ~80 days until I had my full licence and just drove a crappy VW as an a to b car while I waited. Best decision I've made, feels a lot better driving it when you don't have to look over your shoulder every 5 seconds.

Just my 2 cents.
