I have a number of splinters firmly imbedded in my arse from sitting on the fence.

I can see logic in both arguments being put forward. At present I am leaning toward forming a club for the reason that it would more formalise the operation of the group. However, at the first sign of politics, in-fighting, etc, this little duck will be finding somewhere else to hang out. I am in it to have a good time, I deal with enough commitees, meetings, and personalities at work.

As you can see from this thread, riffs are forming already with some heated and very focused debate.

Chris, I am assuming that since you have floated this you must have a large amount of detail already thought out.

- Maybe you could enlighten us with more detail?

- Yearly costs ideas?

- Commitee memeber numbers?

- Numbers of commitees (eg. state based or not)?

- Meeting regularity (eg. monthly, quaterly)?

Obviously, most of these will be up for debate as part of the club setup, but posting your current "theories / ideas" might help those that fear what it will be like have some confidence in the future.

Cheers.

I don't know what all this "committee meeting" fuss is about ... Team HgAg have been having successful meetings now for many months ... no politics, no problems, just Mack eating all the lamingtons and hording the thong! <_<

... ooookay, so I'm outta here then .... sorry ( ) ... :hrmm:

Hijacker! ... There he is ... GET HIM! ...

Curious as to your views of setting up an official BA Club specialising in the XR6 Turbo.

I once started a thread asking if there was enough interest to have a xr6t club only and had the thread deleted by a moderator and told what do you think this forum is.... a now we have a mod erator starting a similar thread so much for freedom of speach..

Ditto,

MORE DETAILS PLEASE!!

This is a BIG step and there are many positives, but also negatives.

I would like to see more details of how the structure, fees etc would be set up.

And, do we really want to limit ourselves to BA owners as full members? I think it would be better done in a way that anyone with the dedication, commitment, interest..... in the club, be able to join on equal footing with others who own BA's. And what about when there's a BB model in a couple of years, can they join as full members? Don't limit your market is what I'm saying.

Guys,

I do apologise for not being on much the past few days, mopping up the server downtime and also trying to secure and build up the new server ready for a migration have been working on this most nights till around 3:30am, who says i dont care about the site!

As for the structure and items, things are still being sorted out, the idea has been in my head for many months, but has only begun falling into action the past month or so.

We are still yet to iron out membership details, our thoughts on structure, features, benefits are all yet to be decided, or are up at a really high level.

Your suggestions are what will build and form the club. Suggestions, feedback and ideas that may not have been thought of yet are what will help to build up a better club.

I will promise as soon as i get this server up and running, and spend a bit of time with my family for once (instead of "the site the site the site" as its called around here) over Christmas. I will put together a Strategic Outline and project plan as to what needs to be done to get this off the ground.

:hrmm:

Be extremely careful about becoming a registered club. I was a part of a fantastic un-incorporated club and after 4 successful years, it was decided to incorporate. The club self destructed within 12 months due to politicing and power struggles. Consider it carefully. Ask what a registered club can achieve that an un-registered one can't before making any decisions.
