I vote to being a club............it makes it more formal as long as we keep the rules simple.........Being a club is not just about money or anything like that......

If its about keeping the site online and the costs associated with it, I'm sure Ford could chip in a few hundred dollars and if not, sell T-Shirts for around $25 (as long as they cost around $15 to produce.

I dont believe its that hard difficult in running a club as long as you keep it simple.

Even sharing the tasks around to reps in each state should simplify matters.

Guys, I dont even have my XR6T yet until end of June (Ford phoned yesterday and confirmed this, but I have been a member of the site for over 2 months.

I log on any time I can get, and really enjoy the site. It would be great to have a club to belong to where everyone enjoys their precious XR6T.

By the way, what does N/A stand for........I noticed in several discussions.......

cheers

Well I just read every post after voting yes first and haven't changed my mind BUT I voted for the FordXR6T lovers club not the owners club. The best thing about this site is that I've got a sh*t load of info from people who are willing to share based only on the fact I asked or looked - not because I own a T (and It's being built at this moment but that's not the point) I would hate to see that go because of elitist bullsh*t. I for one can hardly wait to get out on cruise and meet everyone whether they drive a T or a scooter - the fact is we all luv the car and want to share that with like minded people. If it costs me money to become a member I don't have a problem with that but for those that do - how much have their ideas been worth to others like me? I've donated but really only contributed with a sly comment occasionally - I really only know or care to know where to put the petrol in and enjoy the result - but have learn't much that will be benficial anyway. I do agree there are some issues with insurance etc - but surely given the combined brain power and obvious research skills of this group these are not insurmountable - nor is the politics - or the raising funds issue - and would luv to be able to say I belong to the FordXR6T club and the forum - whether I owned one or not. - my 2 bobs worth

Ok this is my point of view.

I was a member of the mustang club in vic I have a 65 convertible stang in the garage in pieces. I thought I would join up as my car was missing a lot of pieces and would meet people that would be intrested ingiving good advise on restoring such a car (IE would help out with advice and contacts) all I found was the club became a money making tool where instead of getting advice it was this bloke does that for so many$$$ and you can buy these from him for so many $$$ etc people were intrested in just making money.I paid a joining fee a membership fee meetings one tuesday night every month (boring as they had to read out he financial report of the club at the start of each meeting,Topics included new members trying to make ends meet for the club to be viable, not good enough turnout ,fees not paid on time etc. I did it for a year saw it wasnt worth it and didnt resign. People that work cant commit to meetings and I guess that's what make this site so fantastic as it doesnt matter what time u get home u can always talk to someone. I`m not a lawyer so dont can me but the fact that we dont pay a yearly membership as such should signify that we are each individuals therefor should not require any type of club insurance. Also one other point all these people that go on about become a club so they can have track days what about people that are worried about there waranty they wont take there cars on the track if theres a chance ford could find out and void there warranty.I personally think rather than have membership fees you would be better of having fund runs where we all put in $5 for a bbq or we have a rock& roll/disco night or even a dinner etc where even if it was at a restarant you could charge say $30 a head and add $5 on for the club and you could easily do that 4 times a year.

Please dont flame me for my point of view either way It will most likely be a majority rule as we live in a democracy but this is my 2cents worth.

regards

Stang

Your spot on stang.Ill say it again,it is a club now with out the BS.

It works 24 hours a day,7 days a week, when people can they log on.no stupid meetings to attend (boring, find the time, let some paper schuffler get his rocks off)

The way it runs it self now is perfect.

Everyone is a free agent, agree to meet on their own free will, take their car at the owoners own risk..most importantly no formal CRAP.Have a prang stiff whatsanames, you came on your own free will.

Times have changed folks...this is the new club...isnt it working just fine the way it is

vik

ps

The best part is on the net we are all "equal"In a club you are not,and that is where all the bull begins, have a think about that!!!!

I agree with stang. Originally I thought that becoming a club would be for the

better, however I now have changed my mind.

It's good the way things are without all the crap. Keep it simple as it is, if you

want to go for a ride with other members then you just tag along, no harm done.

Stang's idea of having something special and charge extra for the site is a

great idea. So who's organising the first Victorian dinner ?

An extra $5 - 10 per head can go along way for this fantastic Site.

Daniel.

I Have been a member of the largest Motor Cyle Club (HOG Harley Owners Group)in the world for the last 12 years and at some stages I have taken an active role in things to do around the club and a few thing always come out when a group of people start running clubs.

1. There are people who alway do and people who wont do anything.

2. The control of the Club is always run by the people who do and the people who dont always complain.

3. I joined this club because I have a passion for American Motorcycles and wish to share this with people who are like me.

4. I am begining to have a passion with my BA ute and I now know I dont need a Club to enjoy this with other people as this site gives all the benefits of a club with out all the hassle and AGENDA's that Commitees have.

This is just a personal opinion and comments would be welcome if you so wish to respond.

PS I am still a member of HOG and I do this as there other benefits to being an international member.( I ride now only with Friends.)

Being a "Forums only group" and not making this site an offical club is limiting this site and its potential.

The way it is all we can do is "cruise".

* We can't participate in car shows as a club ( the best way to attract new members and promote this site ).

* We need rules to formalise and give structure to everything we do.

* Club Members can nominate themselves for differenet rolls ( depends on how the voting is going to happen ) club memebers can then choose who they want in each roll. Instead of the calls of desperation from someone. :w00t2:

* We need everyone to join in on the decision making, you guys make this site, so why not make it a club and share the responsibilty. We can't rely on Chris to worry about everything for everyone all the time.

* We need meeting to bring ideas together ( outside of this forum ) :spoton: , and that way everything is recorded and no arguments can happen later.

or if you want we can stay this way and that's the way it'll stay..... cruise and that's it.

My 40c

Antoinette.

This is what I mean, doesnt even own a BA and wants run the show all ready

This outstanding community offers more value to its contributors than any club I have ever heard of to date. While we may not be a "club" in name, we are more than a "club" in spirit and perhaps achieve far more than many clubs have during the same time period.

If anyone can demonstrate there is potentially more added value to our community than us enjoying our "virtual club" here by forming an official club, no doubt we would all be interested to hear it.

Chris and team...take a bow!...this community (our "virtual club") blows most "clubs" away like a T leaving its comparable Expensive Daewoo rival in its dust... :k24t:

Safe and happy driving...Dr Z. :spoton:
