Bfii Zf, Flash Edit Box, Not Sure What To Do

I tried searching for this information and couldn't really find anything specific

I have a 07 BFII (build date 07/07) XR6T

just bought a SCT flash tuner box and I'm about to send it to CAPA to put a tune in it and unlock the VIN.

The car is dead stock (except the middle muffler has been removed).

My questions are

Using the stock injectors, what would be a safe level of boost to go up to and what would be maximum (keeping in mind everything else is stock)?

Is it difficult to change the injectors?

With the edit box, I was promised that it has been returned to standard tune so CAPA can unlock the VIN. Is there any way that I can confirm this? (as I'm considering shelving the box and do the intercooler, injectors and actuator then getting a tune but if the seller wasn't telling the truth then I can lodge a paypal dispute).

I'm not expecting miracles without $$$, but I want to make sure that I'm getting the most for my money... I'm hoping that 10-11 psi is the answer...

Firstly, you don't want a CAPA tune. These cars do not cope well with generic tunes and people have blown their engines up using them. Find a reputable tuning shop (one of the forum sponsors) and take it there to be tuned. Without the car and a dyno, you cannot custom tune these cars properly.

Not entirely sure, but this is my knowledge on the X-cal box. If the previous owner returned there car to stock, you just plug it in and off you go. It only needs to be VIN unlocked if the original car was written off and only SCT in the US can do that.

Firstly, which version flash box is it? If its a Xcal 1 you got ripped, because it can't be used to custom tune.

If its a 2 or 3 than it can be used, but I don't think you can tell if the previous car was flashed to std..

Max psi is what your tuner decides is safe. I think mine was around 12psi when I first got a tune..

Pookey, I think it has to be unlocked, cause once used on a car it is vin locked to that car.. that's why they only have 5 lives (5 cars) once used on 5 cars they don't work anymore?

I believe that the box is locked to the VIN of a car, and it can be unlocked onshore if the tune was placed back to standard setting, if not then it must go back to USA. since the box was used for a different engine (xr8) I'm not going to be placing it into the car until CAPA have looked at it.

get a box that you can take to a tuner of your choice, will be a lot better off than getting a xcal 1 with a generic tune that nobody will be able to tune, another box and custom tune will be a lot cheaper than replacing an engine
