Hey guys.

This is my first post on what seems to be a decent, active, forum. I joined not too long ago on this forum for research to help my decision for a car.

A little about me first:

My names Andrew. I'm 20 (green P-plater), and I go to uni and work. I live in Melbourne's south east.

My previous car was a MKVI VW Golf, and I've had Holdens in the past.

Well... The other day a deal was finalized at Coffey Ford Dandenong for a FG G6E in Winter White with Cashmere (creamy-white) leather interior.

So excited for pickup! Should be some time this week hopefully.

More photos once I actually get the car.

This is my first Ford to date. So I'm interested how it is going to be on a daily basis compared to the VW Golf.

As its a car ill be driving till im off my Ps, I will be modding it so that it is exactly how I want.

Ill post any updates into this thread to keep you all updated :) and I plan to have lots of pics, because everyone likes pics.

Mod list that I've been thinking about:

- Wheels (Black 19"/20" - I'm open to suggestions, as I have no idea what looks good on Fords)

- Suspension

- Exhaust

- Intake

- XR8 Bonnet

- HID Conversion

- Custom Plates

The dealer recons you can get 200 rear wheel kw from these cars, not sure how accurate that it, but it may be a target?

One of my hobbies are also photography (in no way would I call myself a pro), but hopefully be joining the social side to this forum, so I possibly could get involved in that.

But yeah, that's all that comes to mind for now.. Other than that, im really damn excited to get my car ! :jump:

Nice car mate, wish I could've had one on my P's...

IMO don't waste too much money in making it go fast, make it look good, sound good and be happy. Once your off your P's then buy a turbo version or XR and make that go faster.. You will end up spending a lot of money and get none of it back. Im sure others will say the same. But at the end of the day its your car and money so go for your life. 200rwkw is doable. Have a look in the n/a section for some ideas. Also look in the G6 section, there are some very nice cars in there to give you some ideas...

Nice choice. And yes some black rims will really work well, have a look around on here and you'll get plenty of ideas. As for suspension, don't go too low or you might regret it, doesn't make them handle any better and in fact worse really and then add scraping everywhere. Some decent shocks(konis or bilsteins) and lowered springs will help improve the ride/handling and help the looks department.

Good luck and don't forget pictures along the way.

Have a look at the new street machine mag as it has a small feature on a N/A pushing 220rwks. Also says with with more tuning and E85 should see close to 250rwks. It's the latest edition street machine.

Nice car

Are you going to bling it or dull it out ???

As stated these are a crazy motor. 220rwkw out of an n/a 6 cyl tractor motor. Ha crazy talk...but true.

With a bit more air in and out these cars can make the 180rwkw easy. And make it all day easily. Just enough to get it off the line quickly and will easily hold its pace at speed. They are quite and almost vibe free. Goes well with the G theme.

Tart it up and work on the handling.

Theycan make more power but the cost of cams so forth out weigh stepping up to a T when elligable

Why do you need more power?

White limos look great and some black 20's will really set it off but don't waste any money making a slow car slightly faster, save it up an spend it on a turbo when you are off your p's.

Tomorrow is apparently the day! But in saying that I wouldn't be surprised of a delay haha. Fingers crossed.

Its a car that ill be keeping for afew years till im off my Ps, so ill just see where it goes and take it one step at a time. But making it look the way I want, as well as sounding better/breathing easier is a must.

Im guessing dull it out is meaning a more stealthy look.. Im more into debadging cars and getting the clean tough look without the need for adding extra bling..especially because the G6Es have enough bling already.

The engine is apparently rated at 195kw.. I havent been able to find a reliable source on the rwkw rating yet.

Checked it out and that's an impressive build.. Way to much mucking around, and the fact that they needed to change the factory computer which didnt allow for factory extras like ABS and air bags doesn't sound too appealing.

Ive also been sussing the G6ET section and TRA1NR's car looks like something I can aspire too :P defiantly keeping an eye on that thread!

Not much more will happen with tra1nr's car. He likes it how it is and think he'd rather spend money elsewhere atm. Still a very nice car and looks awesome :buttrock:

Very nice buy mate. Love the G6E's and white just looks awesome. Like others have said it doesnt make FINANCIAL sense to mod a N/A but in saying that if its what makes you happy then its worth doing. Ultimately it would be best to make it look and sound nice then transfer those things (wheels, suspension, etc) to a turbo version later down the track.

Ya only live once so enjoy it (modded or not)

cheers
