Hey Guys,

After going for a short drive today I realised that the bonnet was slightly open, not locked in right at the bottom.

The bonnet was opened and closed before I left with no dramas.

I haven't looked into it much yet, must be something to with the mechanism not locking in after in the closed position.

By the way there is definitely nothing blocking the way of the bonnet.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Cheers,

Tom

Yes it happened on mine too. I tied the bonnet down and drove to the dealer where they bent the tab that holds the cable on the latch. It worked for a few days then suddenly it opened at 100kph. Took it to another dealer and they replaced the whole latch assembly.

Don't let them just bend the tab. Make sure they fit a new latch mechanism.

Ah man that's a bummer, didn't particularly want to go through all that.

Too much showboating opening and closing the bonnet I guess? :P

Fixed it!

For anyone interested or for some useful info if it happens to you,

The cable from the pull switch (open bonnet) under the steering wheel was run behind the bracket supporting the top of the intercooler forcing it to enter the latch at an angle therefore not tightening the cable enough.

What I did was remove the latch mechanism and had the cable run in front of the bracket so it enters the mech straight. (picture shows the result after I ran the cable in front)
